SWING paragliders must be inspected periodically at least every 24 months or 150 flights/flight hours, whichever comes first.

For some models, the inspection period is reduced to 12 months or 100 flights/flight hours (e.g. acro gliders, speed riders, paramotor gliders for heavy trikes, or competition gliders). The periods specified for the respective model in the operating instructions are decisive.
Failure to comply with these guidelines will result in the expiry of the operating license and the extended SWING warranty, which applies to products registered with SWING.

2 Jahres Check

Your paraglider must be professionally checked regularly so that you can pursue your hobby safely. The two-year check at SWING is carried out with the utmost care according to strict guidelines and includes checking the condition of all materials. The overall condition of your paraglider is assessed and recorded and attached to your glider’s CV.

Our two-year check includes our all-round service. This means that if minor repairs are required, we will take care of them as part of the check. Larger repairs will of course be discussed with you and if additional costs arise, we will get back to you as soon as possible with an estimate. Also included in the check is the trim optimization of your glider.

LEISTUNGSUMFANG

First, we inspect your aircraft to identify it on the basis of the official manufacturer’s documentation and the type identification sheet.
Then we start to measure the air permeability of the cloth using a porosimeter (JDC). The device measures the seconds it takes to draw a certain amount of air through the cloth. The shorter this process takes, the more air permeable the cloth is. The measurement is carried out at a total of six points on the upper and lower sail
In the next step, we test the tear resistance of the fabric using a bed tester. This involves punching a needle-thick hole in the fabric and applying a load of 1000 grams. The fabric must not tear by more than 5 mm
We then check the top and bottom sails panel by panel for holes, tears, stretching or chafing. We also take a close look at the seams and the inside of the glider. The glider is then thoroughly shaken out to remove any sand or dirt that has accumulated in the cells
After checking the canopy, we turn our attention to the lines, suspension points and risers. Among other things, we check the condition of the line buckles and check the risers and lines for kinks, chafing or fraying
Finally, we draw up a report with all abnormalities and the condition of the glider. We also affix the check stamp with the date and signature of the inspector in the Stabilo. We ask you to carefully read and follow the instructions of our inspectors on your inspection report (if available)!

The price for this service package is 199.- € (incl. 19% VAT & shipping costs), for X-Wing and Tandems 239.- (incl. 19% VAT & shipping costs) due to the increased effort. Payment is made by invoice
For customers from abroad the check price is € 189 (incl. 19% VAT), for X-Wing and tandems € 229 (incl. 19% VAT) plus VAT due to the increased expense. Shipping costs. Payment is made in advance

BEARBEITUNGSDAUER:

The average processing time is approx. 2-3 weeks after receipt of the parcel. At peak times it can take a little longer.

We are delighted that you would like to have your SWING paraglider checked directly by the manufacturer and thank you for your trust.
We will check your glider professionally and conscientiously for airworthiness according to detailed specifications. Time is an important factor for the quality of the work. The faster something has to be done, the more likely it is that careful work will suffer.

Due to the above-average workload, combined with occasional employee absences due to illness, the current processing time for a check or repair is approx. 4-6 weeks (as of February 03, 2025).

Please contact us in advance by phone or e-mail if you need to have your paraglider back by a certain date, e.g. due to vacation. We are confident that the processing time will settle down to an average of 2-3 weeks within the next few weeks.

HINWEISE ZUM VERSAND:

Please note the following points when sending your paragliding equipment to SWING:

  • We can only check, inspect and repair SWING products.
  • Enclose a completed order form with your shipment. You can download and print the form here[order form].
  • Mark damaged areas on the glider, harness or rescue system with suitable adhesive tape.
  • Pack your umbrella well – with the lines untangled and neatly folded – and think of a cardboard box as cut protection.
  • Send your shipment by post to SWING Flugsportgeräte GmbH, An der Leiten 4, 82290 Landsberied, if you are resident in Germany or another country of the European Union. You can also bring your paraglider to us in person.

  • Major repairs on the occasion of an inspection will only be carried out after consultation.
  • The execution of work by SWING usually takes two to three weeks; at peak times and/or for major repairs, longer waiting times must be expected.
