The Mistral range was presented back in 1996 and has indisputably established itself as paragliding’s most sought-after DHV 1-2 glider. The amazing success of the Mistral 4 has proven once again that Swing’s concepts are very well received.
Performance through dedication
New software, many prototypes, countless tests and great dedication – this is how our experienced development team under the leadership of Manuel Croci was again able to move in new directions. For Swing, so-called “innovations”, and the marketing hype that goes with them, have never formed the basis for a new development. “A high resale value for Swing gliders” is the response from our customers in more than 60 countries. We appreciate this compliment.
Mistral 5 – we have listened to what pilots have said
Growing numbers of experienced pilots are now flying DHV1-2 gliders. Not only are they further developing their flying ability, but they are placing higher and higher demands on the gliders they choose. Swing is very quick to recognize relevant development trends which will produce a successful glider and, in its position as market leader, it also takes an active part in shaping trends.
Mistral 5 – A combination of balance and sportiness
All pilots should be able to enjoy awe-inspiring cross-country flights whilst remaining relaxed and clam. Its convincing balance, combined with appealing sportiness, make the Mistral 5 a very persuasive and classy DHV1-2 glider. It goes without saying that Swing, with its 20 years of development experience, meets the highest performance and safety demands.
Mistral 5 = lively and elegant
Fun was one of the main motivating factors for our development team. Pilots will be captivated by the handling features of the Mistral 5 – not only is it balanced, but it is direct and lively too. This is reflected in its elegant and snappy design.
Our unchecked drive for progress and perfection gives the Mistral 5 unsurpassable features. It is now up to you to discover the performance potential and a whole new flying experience under a Mistral 5!
Main differences from the Mistral 4
more lively and appealing handling with linear increase in control pressure
better performance
no D main lines
greater aspect ratio
higher wing-loading
symmetrical and sporty design
MISTRAL 5 ...with power and even more options
The Mistral 5 has excellent launch and handling features, and this is what made us decide to have it type-tested by the DHV for paramotor use (with and without trimmers and with extended take-off weight ranges). This means that the Mistral 5 now has a much greater range of possible uses. A raiser specifically for paramotor use is available separately from Swing for sizes 24, 26 and 28. There are no other changes compared to the LTF version.
