Hike & Fly with friends from the X-Alps Academy
What could be better than an evening flight at sunset?
Together with some friends from the X-Alps-Academy, we set off on a beautiful summer’s day in August to the Morgenberghorn in the Bernese Oberland, Switzerland.
The challenging route took us up to 2,249 meters above sea level. On the way, we were able to enjoy the fantastic view of Lake Thun. Once at the top, we saw the snow-covered peaks of the famous trio: the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau. We were overwhelmed by the sunset, which colored all the peaks in soft orange tones. It was time to start. The wind was perfect, not too strong and came from the front. The steep starting area was a challenge, so caution was required. After a nice soaring session, we flew back down to the valley, where it was already dusk.
By chance, there was also a professional photographer on the Morgenberghorn who was spending the night there. He offered to take some nice pictures of our evening flight. And so we can now share this unforgettable hike & fly tour with you.
