WITH THE PURA RS, THE CIRCLE IS COMPLETE.

The PURA is different. Above all, it is more. For everyone who wants to combine their passion for the mountains with the freedom of flight. It puts the descent centre stage as the ultimate flying experience. And so the circle closes:
the mountain feeling in its purest form.

HIKE TO FLY!

Ultralight and compact in your pack, intuitive in the air and versatile in what it can do: straight and dynamic back down to the valley, or carried a little further by the thermals. Depending on size and take-off weight, the PURA RS becomes a light hike-&-fly all-rounder for playful thermalling and dynamic soaring, or an agile miniwing.

“

The PURA is the perfect hike-&-fly wing for an adventure like this. On the way up I forgot it was even in my pack. And on the way down I could soar along the slopes of this beautiful mountain and glide effortlessly down to the valley.

U-LITE

COMPACT. LIGHT. INCREDIBLY VERSATILE.

The PURA RS is our first U-LITE wing, from 1.70 kg, developed for pilots who don’t just want to climb mountains but experience them in all their freedom. Ultralight in your pack, intuitive and safe in the air, and versatile in what it can do. When it comes to flying, the PURA RS is a “no-brainer” with maximum fun and strong performance.

YOU’LL FLY IT. AND LOVE IT.

YOUR CHOICE

Thermals. Hike & Fly. Miniwing.

The PURA RS is available in sizes 14, 16 and 18 m² and weighs only 1.70, 1.85 or 2.00 kg depending on size. It is type-tested to EN 926-1 (load test). Our assessment of the EN rating and our recommendations for take-off weights including equipment can be found in the PURA RS Range Finder. There you can see which weight range is recommended for hike & fly in thermals and which for dynamic flying as a U-LITE miniwing.

RAST

THE SILENT BACKBONE.

RAST is the invisible backbone of the PURA RS. It gives the canopy structure and provides stability when it matters. Unobtrusive in its effect, but decisive for a safe and controlled feel in the air.

“The strength of RAST is that you hardly notice it. It works in the background so you can focus entirely on what matters: your flight.”

WHO IT’S FOR

The PURA RS.

You want to combine mountaineering and flying, and you value safe, lightweight gear? The PURA RS is your ideal companion for a quick hike & fly on your local hill, your first ascent of Mont Blanc or a hike-&-fly trip to Kyrgyzstan. And as a versatile all-rounder and second wing, it comes along whenever there is a chance to fly.

You choose your wing to match your skill level, your take-off weight and the kind of flying you do. For this, the PURA RS offers three sizes and two recommended ranges of use.

Your adventure. Your flight. Your PURA.

Buffer Section
Core Section

In paragliders with RAST, the canopy interior is divided into different (pressure) sections by one or more fabric panels, some with valves, running across the flight direction. This allows control over the airflow inside the canopy. The principle works similarly to a bulkhead, for example in tanks.

With RAST, the air compensation flows within the paraglider canopy can be regulated through defined openings. This applies both during inflation (launch) and deflation. In the event of a pressure loss, for example caused by canopy disturbances, the relative internal pressure of the CORE section increases, while the BUFFER section absorbs the introduced energy through deformation. In addition, RAST can be used as an extra tension level for the leading and trailing edge, which has a positive effect on flight comfort. Since RAST connects the ribs across the entire profile height, the construction has a stiffening effect, allowing reinforcements and/or stiffening elements to be reduced or even completely replaced by this special design.

On the PURA RS, too, the RAST band forms an additional vertical tension plane inside the canopy, running across the classic rib structure and extending over the entire span. This structural backbone stabilizes the wing where it matters most: in pitch, in pendulum behaviour above the pilot and in the structural cohesion of the whole canopy.

The result is calmer, more controllable flight behaviour that shows its strengths especially in hike & fly and in demanding alpine conditions.

On the PURA RS, RAST has been specifically optimized for two characteristics:

Easy, controlled inflation: with little tendency to overshoot or lift the pilot off the ground, even in demanding launch conditions.

High stability and control in flight: damped, predictable flight behaviour even in turbulent air, which benefits less experienced pilots in particular.

Nitinol wires: for maximum profile accuracy

Nitinol is a high-strength, temperature- and corrosion-resistant shape-memory alloy. The name stands for Nickel Titanium Naval Ordnance Laboratory. SWING was among the first paraglider manufacturers to use this material, known from medical technology, as a leading-edge reinforcement, and has done so for years.

On the PURA, nitinol reinforcements ensure a permanently clean leading edge and high profile accuracy, even with temperature changes and frequent packing. The canopy reliably keeps its shape even when packed very tightly. The nitinol wires are also sheathed, protecting the cloth above them from abrasion.

Proven ultralight cloth: The double-coated Dominico DOKDO-10DSF used for the upper and lower surface combines minimal weight with high durability.

Weight-optimized internal structure: Reduced to the essentials and consistently designed for lightweight construction. Every unnecessary gram has been saved, so you carry as little as possible on the way to the summit.

U-LITE risers: The ultralight, 7 mm wide risers made of Dyneema webbing are connected to the lines with LinkLite soft links. The U-LITE brake handles are secured with light, proven YKK STOCKO Eyelet Snap press studs, while low-friction rings guide the brake lines. Despite consistent weight optimization, the risers remain clearly laid out and stable enough to sort quickly and easily. A decisive advantage, especially in demanding alpine launch conditions.

Hydrophobic lines: The unsheathed, colour-coded Aramid 8001 Magix Pro Dry lines are water-repellent and durable, and thanks to their colour coding they are particularly easy to sort and untangle.

The precisely positioned winglets of the PURA RS provide balanced roll stability and controlled, harmonious flight behaviour. They damp unwanted roll movements without restricting the wing’s agility. The PURA RS responds directly and playfully to control inputs while remaining pleasantly predictable.

Especially when entering and exiting dynamic manoeuvres, the winglets support well-controllable roll behaviour. The result is exactly the right balance between stability and dynamics: lively enough for plenty of fun in the air, without challenging the pilot with excessive roll.

  • Shape-stable canopy profile with 3D shaping: for a smooth surface and more performance.
  • Dirt-out openings on the trailing edge: so you can get rid of sand and dirt easily.
  • Practical for alpine launches: The attachment loops on the upper surface let you secure the PURA RS against sliding away on steep or slippery ground, such as snow.

The EN classification shown is our assessment of the extreme flight behaviour and pilot requirements according to EN 926-2, based on our internal test flights. The PURA RS has been type-tested by an accredited test laboratory to EN 926-1 (load test). It has not been type-tested to EN 926-2 (flight test) by a test laboratory. Goat Mode extends from the end of the miniwing range to the certified take-off weight of 118 kg and is for experts only. All weights include equipment.
